Bexhill-on-Sea has Guiding units in Bexhill, Ninfield and Sidley. There are approximately 200 girls over 13 units including Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section. Highlights from last year include our Centenary event on the beach – with cupcakes, cocktails and a disco!

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Brighton East Division includes the areas of Rottingdean, Woodingdean, Saltdean, East Brighton and Whitehawk and currently there are around 300 girls aged between 5 and 18 involved in Guiding in here. There are Rainbow units in Rottingdean and Woodingdean; Brownie units in Saltdean, Rottingdean Woodingdean, East Brighton and Whitehawk; Guide units can also be found in Saltdean, Rottingdean, East Brighton, Whitehawk and Woodingdean; Rottingdean also has a Senior Section unit and Woodingdean has a Ranger Unit. Highlights from Brighton East Division last year includes Rainbows going wild at Drusillas and a centenary closing party at Brighton Race course – with fireworks from Frontier Fireworks Limited.

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Brighton West Division has 568 members from the youngest Rainbow to adult leaders and helpers. Guiding units are in Patcham, Westdene, and Preston Park. Across the Division there are a total of 6 Rainbow units, 12 Brownie units, 7 Guide units, and 2 Senior Section groups. Last year Brownies from the district took over Butlin’s in Bognor and the Duke of York Cinema Brighton. The Guides from the area took over Alton Towers for a weekend – sleeping on the lawns there!

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Eastbourne is the largest Division in the county with 591 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members and 190 adult leaders and helpers. Eastbourne stretches from Polegate in the north to the seaside of the town, from Willingdon and East Dean in the west to Langney and Pevensey in the east. The Division has 8 Rainbow units, 18 Brownie units, 9 Guide units and 2 Senior Section units. A big highlight for girls in Eastbourne last year was taking part in the International Camp (Olave) at Blackland Farm East Grinstead – the week long camp was enjoyed by girls from all over the county and world.

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Hastings Division serves the main town of Hastings, the Old Town and Ore with 146 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members within the town and 43 adult leaders and helpers. The Division has three Rainbow units, six Brownie units, two Guide units and a Senior Section unit. Highlights of the centenary year in Hastings included a party at Priory Meadow Shopping Centre with a guest list including: the Mayor of Hastings Kim Forward, Hastings Carnival Queen and representatives from Scouting and charities that had supported the girls over the past year.

Hove Division is the most westerly Division in the county with 634 girls and members in units in Mile Oak, Portslade, Hangleton, West Blatchington, and central Hove. In Hove there are five Rainbow units, 12 Brownie units, nine Guide units, and four Senior Section units. A highlight of the centenary year in Hove was the party at Hove Town Hall where girls had workshops in circus skill and cheerleading, they were taught line dancing, made crafts and had some awesome face paints done!

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Lewes Division covers both the town of Lewes itself and the surrounding villages. It is made up of three Guiding Districts: Lewes Castle, Lewes Priory, and Lewes Windmill. Lewes Castle covers the east of Lewes town, Ringmer, Barcombe and Laughton with Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units in Ringmer and in the east of Lewes. Lewes Priory District covers the main part of Lewes town and Kingston with Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units meeting in the centre of Lewes. A Senior Section unit also covers both these Districts. Lewes Windmill District covers all the villages north of Lewes: Chailey, Plumpton, Wivelsfield, and Newick where Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section meet on a weekly basis.

Rother Division is our most northerly Division covering Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section in Crowborough, Forest Row, Hartfield, Jarvis Brook, Wadhurst and Mayfield. The Division has 476 members from the youngest Rainbow to adult leaders and helpers across the three districts of Crowborough, Forest Row and Wadhurst with five Rainbow units, nine Brownie units, eight Guide units and a Senior Section unit altogether. A highlight of Rother’s centenary year was Crowborough’s roller-disco party at Goldsmiths Leisure Centre.

Rye Division is our most easterly Division covering Robertsbridge, Hurst Green, Etchingham, Burwash, Westfield, Rye, Peasmarsh, Beckley, Brede, Guestling & Pett, Battle, Sedlescombe, and Crowhurst. The Division has 394 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members and 69 adult leaders and helpers. Rye Division had an amazing end to the centenary year with over 400 Rye and Battle guiding members walking to the top of Fairlight all with glow sticks. Residents to the area could see a glow from the top of Fairlight and could hear the singing!

Seahaven Division covers the towns of Newhaven, Telscombe Cliffs, Peacehaven and Seaford with 383 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members and 84 adult leaders and helpers. The Division has four Guiding districts: Newhaven District, Peacehaven District, Seaford North District and Seaford South District. Newhaven District has Rainbow, Brownie, Guide and Senior Section units in Newhaven town and Denton. A highlight of last years centenary for guiding Newhaven was the party at Newhaven Fort. To There was a disco with bubble machine, during which there was a chocolate fountain with jelly babies, mini-donuts and fruit.
Peacehaven District covers Rainbows, Brownies and Guides in Peacehaven and Telscombe Cliffs. Look out for the amazing memory tree of all the experiences girls have had in Girlguiding over our centenary celebrations last year, Peacehaven library.
Seaford is split into two districts with Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section in Seaford and Blatchington. To mark the centenary of guiding in Seaford a time capsule is being kept at Seaford Museum which contains items from Rainbows, Brownies and Guides from Seaford.

ABOUT THE DIVISION
St. Leonards Division covers Hollington and St Leonards with 260 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members and 61 adult leaders and helpers. The girls and adult leaders and helpers are spread across five Rainbow units, seven Brownie units, six Guide units and two senior section units that meet at various locations across St Leonards. A highlight for girls in St Leonards over the centenary year was the party (attended by 400 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides, Senior Section and volunteers) with a disco and camp fire songs at the Phoenix Centre at William Parker School.

ABOUT THE DIVISION
Weald Division covers a wide area from Buxted and Uckfield in the north, to Hersmonceux in the east and Hailsham in the south, with 547 Rainbows, Brownies, Guides and Senior Section members and 116 adult leaders and helpers. The Division is divided into five Guiding Districts. Ashdown Forest District covers units in Buxted and Maresfield. Hailsham East District covers Rainbows, Brownie, and Guide units in Herstmonceux, Wartling and on the outskirts of Hailsham. Hailsham West District overseas units in the main town of Hailsham, and Hellingly and Chiddingly. Hailsham celebrated the guiding centenary at the observatory in Herstmonceux where they had exclusive use of the centre, had a telescope tour and did some planet spotting Heathfield District has Rainbow, Brownie and Guide units in Heathfield and Horam. Uckfield District covers the town of Uckfield with Rainbow, Brownie Guide and Senior Section units. A highlight of Uckfield’s centenary year was a party with 125 people, which included making music with boomwhackers and Rhythm Synergy
