Welcome to the Website for
Girlguiding Sussex East County
We are one of the 19 Counties covered by Girlguiding London and South East England (LaSER for short), and are part of the leading charity for girls and women across the UK. Within our County we have over 3900 girls in Rainbows (age 5-7), Brownies (age 7-10), Guides (age 10 – 14) and Rangers and Young Leaders (age 14+). These girls are supported by over 1090 amazing volunteers who give girls a voice, share life skills, and provide brilliant fun and adventures to them at Unit, District, Division and County level.
Our county is divided into 12 divisions, from Brighton and Hove in the West to Rye in the East and Hartfield (home of Winnie the Pooh!) to the north, so wherever you are in East Sussex, you’re sure to be able to find a unit nearby to come along to and join in with the fun! Please visit www.girlguiding.org.uk, to register your daughter – or yourself - to come and be part of one of our amazing groups – we look forward to meeting you!
Our national programme enables all our members to enjoy a vast range of adventures and experiences, from crafts to Treasure hunts to holidays, camps and fun, based around balanced, engaging and challenging activities through all the Sections, along with local events and activities for all. Groups can also experience camp in the beautiful Sussex countryside at one of our campsites.
Every 4 - 5 years we host our own large scale International Camp, Olave, which has been held since 1989 – over 30 years of camp and friendships!
Guiding during Covid-19
How lockdown affects how we can meet
Latest from Girlguiding – January 2021
The current third national lockdown has once again sadly impacted on our ability hold face to face meetings
No face-to-face guiding meetings can happen during lockdown, indoors or outdoors. This includes adult volunteer meetings and/or training sessions.
